Details

Perfect on the cover of any 'box of chocolates' this gorgeous traditional Lakeland cottage nestles in a sleepy backwater of conservation Ambleside, in a slightly elevated setting, yet only a two minute walk from the heart of this picturesque centre. Old Lake District outwardly yet step inside to contemporary and sophisticated living, this is a special place to relax, soak up wonderful Ambleside, and spend precious time together.

Step foot inside and be instantly charmed by 21st century chic style, which blends effortlessly with Lakeland life. The pretty setting is simply beautiful for such as central location and yet even the far reaching mountain views are breathtaking. One, two or even three couples can spread out here, relax and soak up those two luxurious bathroom facilities. Only literally a stone's throw away is cosmopolitan Ambleside, alive with excellent restaurants and bars to tempt you out and here, walks are in abundance straight from your doorstep. Argyle Cottage is designed to provide a perfect holiday at any time of the year and help recharge those batteries.

The accommodation comprises; the traditional entrance porch which gazes over towards Loughrigg Fell, the entrance hall is bright and spacious with access into the superb living space, having windows incorporating window seats with far reaching views on both sides, sumptuous and relaxing furnishings and the warming wood-burner, what a great place to unwind. The kitchen is also flooded with light and also boasting the window seat, slate floor and designer finish, 'Nigella' would be very happy working from here! On this level is one of the luxurious bathroom facilities, big enough to fit a double bed or two. The beautiful staircase takes you to the three generous and sophisticated bedrooms, each adorning a window seat and views out towards the village and surrounding mountains including the Fairfield Range and Wansfell to name only a couple. Two king size bedrooms and one being a zip-and-link capable of being a twin or a super king, so let us know when you book how you would like the bed setting up? Also on this level is the second bathroom facility, we think the photos tell this story, don't you?

Map reference: NY 377046  Lat: 54.43299 Long: -2.96190

Please exit the M6 at Junction 36 and follow the A591 to the Lake District. You will pass by Kendal and need to follow the signs for Windermere/Ambleside. After around 10 miles you will reach Windermere village, continue past Windermere Village following the main road through to Ambleside follow the one-way system signposted towards the town centre and proceed through Ambleside signposted Grasmere and Keswick keeping in the left hand lane through the one way system. You will pass the 'Little Bridge House' on your left and will then reach a small roundabout, where you need to turn right up the hill onto Smithy Lane. Continue up this hill passing a pub called The Golden Rule on your right, the road then bends to your left and you should not go left but straight on and then turn left onto Chapel Hill, here you will see your chosen cottage on your left; you may be fortunate and be able to park right outside the cottage or further up the hill by St Anne's Chapel or in a few other very convenient places further up the hill, but if not then we suggest that here you pull up and unload your car
