Brackenrigg Toll House is temporarily unavailable for 2018 due to works being undertaken nearby, however, the property will be available again from the beginning of 2019.



We are delighted to offer this renovated and restored character country-cottage which has been carefully prepared for your holiday comfort and sure to be very popular. With wonderful scenery all around there is easy access to fine walking in Borrowdale, the north western-fells and around Skiddaw. Bassenthwaite Lake is less than a mile from the cottage where there is dinghy sailing etc. With both The Castle Inn and Armathwaite Hall within easy strolling distance you will be able to eat out without using the car, and The Lake District Wildlife Park and The Lakes Distillery are a treat for all the family.

Accommodation: Entrance porch (boot storage) leading into the spacious and welcoming dining /kitchen with its large windows, comfy sofa and fine views over the neighbouring fields. Hallway for hanging coats. Separate utility room. Large open-plan sitting room to the front of the cottage with central feature fireplace open to both sides (log burner). The dining room to one end leads through to the sitting area with its French doors to the patio and feature 'toll-bar' window with oak window seat. (Flat screen TV with freeview, DVD, wi-fi broadband.).

Three bedrooms . A master king-double en-suite (walk-in rain shower, basin and wc): Second double bedded room and a twin. Family bathroom (walk -in rain shower, bath, basin and wc). Fitted carpets to bedrooms, oak flooring elsewhere. Furnishings are a co-ordinated collection of antiques, Laura Ashley, William Morris and Sanderson.

Outside: Views to both sides include Skiddaw and mountains beyond Keswick to the front, and across open fields with Binsey to the rear. Extensive rear patio with garden furniture, and barbecue area plus other 'secret' garden areas for you to explore -Parking for up to three cars, secure bike storage in the garage. Ten minute drive to Keswick or Cockermouth for main shopping.
