Christmas and New Year 2016 availabilty as follows:

Tuesday 28th December 2016 for 7 nights.

What a gem! At Heart of the Lakes we try very hard not to over exaggerate the descriptions of our properties but this really is the exception to the rule. High Biggin is so delightful and will surely be the venue for many happy holidays in the most beautiful surroundings. If you are looking for a special treat for your family holiday, maybe for a special occasion...a birthday or anniversary celebration or simply a luxurious getaway in which to recharge your batteries, you have found it in High Biggin.

This picturesque property lies to the south side of Bowness in an enviable elevated position with stunning lake views from the terrace and main windows. Built in the late 19thC it offers a wealth of character features, which the owners have enhanced with tasteful and sympathetic modern styling and up-to-the-minute fittings of a very high quality. This is the kind of holiday home you dream of finding and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The quality of this outstanding property is also confirmed by the fact that it has received a 5 Star Gold Award from Visit Britain.

With Bowness an easy stroll just half a mile away you can eat out in style, enjoy lake cruises or boat hire. You will be handy for the golf club and many other local activities, although once here you may never actually wish to leave the relaxing ambience.

The owners are also able to offer (by extra arrangement) a housekeeping service, an in-house breakfast service or a chef to come in and cook for you - anything from a lunchtime BBQ to an evening dinner. They can also provide champagne and chocolates or fresh flowers for your arrival.

Accommodation: Entrance through the main door leads you into the hallway. L-shaped lounge with character beams and woodwork has an open fire (flat screen TV with freesat/DVD). Separate dining room. Large kitchen with open plan snug area (flat screen TV with freesat/Wii) and patio doors leading out to the terrace and hot tub. Separate store room with American style fridge and also separate laundry facilities lead off the kitchen.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms, three of which are en-suite and one with its own private bathroom. All the bedrooms and bathrooms have been stylishly refurbished with every thought given to your comfort and are very well-proportioned. The master double with super king-size bed is exceedingly spacious and features its own dressing room, lounge area, flat screen TV with freesat and private access to a picnic area at the side of the property, as well as the fantastic lake view. Its en-suite bathroom has a large spa bath and separate shower (basin and wc). The second double (king-size bed) with dressing area and fully tiled en-suite (bath with shower over, basin and wc) has access to a private balcony with table and chairs for two where a morning coffee or evening glass of wine can be enjoyed whilst admiring the lake views. The third double (king- size bed) also has superb lake views and en-suite facilities (large separate shower, basin and wc), whilst the fourth bedroom (6ft zip-link bed can be made as a double or a twin) is again spacious with a private bathroom just next door (large separate shower, basin and wc). All rooms have Ipod docking stations and fitted carpets throughout.

High Biggin is everything you could wish for in a holiday property, the high quality of its interior and the amount of facilities it has to offer will make a wonderful holiday in any season. The BBQ and terrace area will be a summer treat whilst the aga will ensure you are warm and cosy throughout the year. The stunning views and hot tub along with everything else on offer make this property an all year round delight.
