A stone's throw from the centre of Ambleside Peggy Hill Cottage is a real treasure...it is a 19th century former farmhouse in the conservation area of old Ambleside. Quietly set on a little pedestrian byway with views to Wansfell this cottage has been very carefully restored retaining its character feel complemented by the needs of 21st century living. With two en-suite bedrooms it is ideal for two couples wishing to stay together or for a family visit in any season of the year.

Ambleside centre boasts a host of eating places, excellent local shops for your everyday needs and much more. Lake Windermere offers delightful cruises throughout the year and there are endless walks and rambles in the surrounding countryside - challenging high tops such as the Fairfield Horseshoe and less taxing moderate climbs with rewarding views for everyone can be reached from the door.

Accommodation: The cottage has a pretty front porch but the usual entrance is by the side door through the utility area where there is ample space for boots and clothing. This leads through to the dining/kitchen and then on into the charming sitting room (LCD TV, DVD, log burner and free wi-fi).

Stairs start in the sitting room, half-landing with wc and basin. Upstairs there are two bedrooms - a spacious double with king-size bed, en-suite with double size mains pressure shower, basin and wc, and a twin room also en-suite with bath, shower over, basin and wc. Both bedrooms have lovely views to Wansfell.

The cottage has been lovingly renovated by its caring owners, and tastefully furnished throughout with feature original beamed ceilings and slate floors downstairs and fitted carpets upstairs. Gas central heating keeps you cosy in any season.

Outside: Enclosed patio area with garden furniture and view - just the spot for a barbecue or glass of wine. Although parking is usually available close-by a permit is provided for one car which allows free parking on the local car park a short distance away. Ambleside village shops, pubs etc 100 yards.

Note: Sorry no pets, but owner does bring a dog to the property.
