Arthur Ransome readers will know all about 'Swallowdale' - a fine hiding place indeed - and this comfortable ground floor apartment close to the centre of Ambleside could be just that. The location is quiet yet all the village amenities are only a short level stroll away.

With so many walks to do in the area you may never need to use the car and the choice of local restaurants will be most attractive to those who wish to eat out in the evenings. There are two good local cinemas which show all the latest films and a good bowling green and tennis courts just a few minutes walk away. Swallowdale has many thoughtful touches making it ideal for year round use.

Accommodation: The accommodation is all on ground floor level being part of an addition to a Lakeland house. A few steps at the main front door lead into a carpeted main entrance hall from where your own front door leads into the apartment.

There is a hallway with storage for your outdoor gear and useful drying cupboard. Good sized sitting/dining room (flat screen TV, Sky TV, video, DVD, radio and CD player) has French window to the patio and garden. Fitted kitchen.

Double bedroom with built-in cupboard. Both main rooms have westerly views towards Loughrigg Fell. Smaller additional room has space for a cot. Bathroom with shower over bath, basin and wc. The property is very comfortable with fitted carpets throughout and gas central heating.

Outside: French window to patio where you can relax and enjoy the evening as the sun sets over the fells. There are shared gardens around the building which also offer views to the Fairfield Horseshoe. Parking for one car in a named space within the grounds. Ambleside shops and village centre 300 yards.
